Mt. Meru can be used for trekking or even as practice before climbing Kilimanjaro. All treks up this mountain are accompanied by an armed ranger due its slopes being within Arusha National park and home to various wildlife such as Giraffe, Buffaloes, Baboons, Elephans, Antelopes, Colobus and monkeys but don’t worry as well as you will accompanied by the an Army Ranger all the way up and down This trek takes 4 days with 3 nights being spent in shelters, when reaching the peak of Mt. Meru you can see a spectacular view of a small ash crater along with a stunning view of its sister Kilimanjaro.
