STONE TOWN TOUR

PRISON ISLAND TOUR

British Army prison and quarantine station. Prison Island, also known as CHANGUU ISLAND, is one of the nearest islands from stone town, just 20minutes by boat. Built as a prison, it was later taken over to be used as a quarantine station by the British Army. Another prison was built to house rebellious slave but had never been used.

SNORKELLING;

The crystal clear water and abundant reefs provide the perfect snorkeling opportunity to see colorful tropical fish. GIANT TORTOISE; The main attractions is the sanctuary of giant tortoises, some of them are over 195 years old. Not indigenous to continental Africa, these tortoises found only on this Island and originally brought over from Aldabra in the Seychelles in an effort of increase the tortoises population on Prison Island. The tortoises were rescued from poachers and now enjoy their day under the lush canopy of the Island and munching on delicious greens.

 SPICE TOUR

The famous spice producing area in the centre of the Island to explore the tropical plantations that are tribute to the Islands in the past, and one of the Islands most popular excursions. The guide will show you the uses, types of spice from the ancient time to present. You will be guided through the plantations and a local spice farm village where you will encounter medicinal cosmetic and ornamental plants and herbs.Learn about the origins, properties and uses of cloves, nutmeg, rambutan, lemon grass, iodineplant, henna, lipstick, vanilla, ginger, blackpepper, the shampoo plants, cardamom, cinnamon  and turmeric.

 KIZIMKAZI  DOLPHIN TOUR/ JOZANI FOREST;

Situated on the Southern- most point of the Island, Kizimkazi fishing village is the perfect location to see dolphins after only a short  boat  trip  from the village. Sailing off the shore affords beautiful vistas of the coastline. In Kizimkazi, Mania Bay you will board a local dhow and set sail in search of the schools of bottle-Nosed and humpback dolphins that populate the waters. Swimming with the dolphins; if you are lucky, you may be able to swim and play with the friendly and lively dolphins at close range, which is an exciting and very rewarding experience. You will then have the option to choose your desired restaurant for a relaxing Swahili lunch.

SUNSET CRUISE

Enjoy sunset cruise on a local dhow. The tour starts an hour before sun set, direct from the hotel and lasts until the sun sets. On the boat we provide soft drinks and local beers such as Kilimanjaro, Serengeti and Safari beer. We can organize this tour starting from 3people up to 12people maximum.

SAFARI BLUE

Leaving from the fishing village of Fumba, 30minutes South West from Stone Town to explore Menai Bay and the surrounding coastline. A visitor will experience locally and traditional dhows’ manufacturing. Board the dhows and set sail in search of dolphins. You will stop on a sandbank to snorkel at two different reefs, both offering a variety of pristine marine life. Dolphin spotting, Snorkeling, sailing, seafood, sandbank and so much more. Enjoy delicious snacks before you move on to a deserted Island restaurant for a lunch of traditional Zanzibarian cuisine.
